A mei tai, also known as an Asian-style baby carrier, is a two-shoulder carrier consisting of a body, a set of waist straps, and a set of shoulder straps. Although this style of soft baby carrier is unfamiliar to many Westerners, it's a tried and true design used for generations with many local variations throughout East Asia.
