About Me TOP

I have more than seven years of babywearing experience with my three children. I was lucky enough to become interested in baby slings and carriers at the beginning of a babywearing renaissance in the US, powered by the Internet. Babywearing and teaching others how to babywear has become my passion, leading me to try out dozens of slings and carriers in search of the most comfortable, most useful, and most versatile options.

My goal in starting QuirkyBaby is to offer you the best of the many carriers I have tried, and to help you find the one (or more!) that will work for you and your baby. Babywearing Safety/Disclaimer TOP

Please read the Babywearing Safety page to learn about the dangers of bag-style slings as well as the safe positioning guidelines that MUST be followed for all newborns and young babies.

All of the slings and carriers I stock are professionally manufactured and inspected, and the designs have been extensively tested by expert babywearers to ensure that they are safe when used as directed. However, your baby's safety is ultimately your responsibility. Please inspect your sling or carrier before you first use it and before every use thereafter for signs of wear and tear, and immediately stop using it if you detect any potential problems.

Read all printed instructions and watch any instructional DVDs that come with your carrier. Practice over a soft surface such as a bed and check your work in a mirror to ensure baby is secure.  Always keep at least one hand firmly holding onto your baby when putting her in the carrier, and make sure she is securely in the carrier before letting go. Learn how to use your carrier without assistance: you should not rely on others to help you with your baby carrier, as they will not know how to help you safely and may cause an accident.

To maintain your baby's airway properly, always ensure that baby's face is not covered by fabric and that baby's chin is not forced against her chest. Newborns, premature babies, and other young babies should not be placed in a carrier in a prone (lying down) or cradle position as this may put them at risk of positional asphyxia. If your baby squirms, grunts, cries, turns red, or otherwise seems distressed, take her out of the carrier and reposition her immediately.

Do not engage in any hazardous activities while babywearing, such as driving, riding a bike, rock climbing, etc. Make sure to keep your baby safely away from any heat source, hot food and drink, etc. Use common sense and be mindful of your baby's position at all times.

Payment/Secure Shopping TOP

For online sales, I accept payment in US dollars only via Google Checkout, Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover. Paypal enables you to use your credit card, linked bank account, or eCheck. Your credit card information is submitted through a secure server so that you can shop with confidence! (Please note that the shopping cart will transfer you to the secured page to enter your credit card information after you have entered your address and chosen your payment method.)

For in-person sales, I accept all of the above plus cash or check.

You will get an email confirmation of your order immediately after you place it.  Please save this receipt. When your package is shipped, you will receive an email with a link to package tracking.

Returns and Exchanges TOP

I want you to be happy with your carrier! Please contact me before returning an item so that I can try to help you trouble-shoot if necessary. If the carrier just isn't working for you, please get a return authorization from me via email before sending it back.

All carriers (except custom-ordered carriers or clearance carriers) in new, unwashed, odor-free condition with all original packaging and instructions may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase. If you are pregnant or adopting, the return period will begin when your baby arrives, if you have notified me at the time of your order of your due date or anticipated adoption date.

I must receive your returned carrier within 30 days of your order being placed. For every week or part thereof that a return is received beyond the 30-day period, an additional 10% restocking fee will apply.

Tummy 2 Tummy DVDs may be returned for exchange if you receive a defective one, but otherwise will not be accepted for returns if the box has been opened. BabyLegs will be accepted for return if they are new and unopened, but if they have been taken out of the package they cannot be returned unless there's a manufacturing defect.

For a return, I will refund your original purchase price minus shipping charges (even if the initial shipping was free). Exchanges ship in the US for a flat rate of $6.95. If your returned item costs more than the item you are receiving in exchange,  this shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. If your returned item costs the same as or less than the item you are receiving in exchange, you may pay the exchange shipping costs by clicking here. (International customers please contact me for a shipping quote).

If you return the exchanged item, the original shipping costs will be deducted from your refund.

I reserve the right to refuse a return or to charge a restocking fee of 10-50% of the item's cost if the item is not in new, unwashed, odor-free, sellable condition with all original packaging and instructions, or if the item does not arrive within the 30-day return period. Items that are dirty or have been washed, smell of smoke, perfume, or laundry detergent/softener, or that have excessive lint or pet hair on them will not be accepted and will be returned to you. For hygienic reasons, I cannot accept returns or exchanges on baby carriers that have milk, spit up, or saliva on them.

All clearance items are final sales unless there is a manufacturing defect.

I recommend that you use the US Postal Service for returns, as it will generally be cheaper and faster than FedEx or UPS. You can reuse the box that your carrier was shipped in. Go to www.usps.com to print a Priority Mail label with delivery confirmation and schedule a pick-up by your mail carrier. Please note that using Signature Confirmation may significantly delay my receipt of your package and your refund or exchange.

US Shipping TOP

If I receive your order by 10 am Eastern time, I do my best to ship your order the same day it is received; otherwise, your order will ship the next business day.

I offer free shipping on US orders of $50 and above (merchandise only; sales tax and shipping costs do not count towards total). Although the vast majority of packages are sent Priority Mail, heavy packages may be sent by Priority or Parcel Post, at my discretion. Items shipped Parcel Post may take a week or more to arrive.

Otherwise, you have your choice of shipping items via first-class mail (for items under 13 ounces), US Priority Mail, or US Parcel Post, all with delivery confirmation. Overnight or second-day shipping is available via US Express Mail.

All shipping includes delivery confirmation for tracking purposes. You will receive an email with your delivery confirmation number. Please check your spam/bulk mail folder for this email if it isn't in your inbox. Be aware that the USPS is only obligated to update the tracking information once your package is actually delivered, although in most cases it is updated more frequently while your package is en route.

You may check the estimated delivery time of your package from zip code 08540 at the USPS website. Please note that Express Mail overnight service is not available to all US zip codes, and that delivery dates given for other services are estimates, not guarantees.

Shipping insurance is not included in the cost of postage (or free shipping if your order is $50 or more). In the unlikely event that the USPS (or postal service of your country) loses your package, I cannot replace your order or refund your money.

Shipping Outside the US TOP

Please be aware that, because of my retailer agreements with certain carrier manufacturers, I am not permitted to sell some brands outside of the United States. Specific details, if applicable, are on each carrier's description page.

All payments must be made in US dollars.

Shipping options include Express Mail International and Priority Mail International.

I highly recommend that you purchase shipping insurance in case of a lost package. I will not reimburse order costs for packages that are not delivered, so all international shipping without insurance is at your own risk.

The shipping costs you will pay on your order cover ONLY postage and insurance if you purchase it. You are responsible for all taxes, customs, or duties charged by your country. I will add all necessary customs forms with the value of the merchandise clearly marked. By law, I cannot mark items that you buy for yourself as "gifts" to avoid customs charges. The customs form will reflect the cost paid for your purchase.

Please inform yourself of your country's regulations on customs, duties, and/or VAT. I have no control over the amount your country may charge you on your purchase, or the length of time it may take for your purchase to clear the customs office.

Sales Tax TOP

Sales tax of 7% will be charged on all orders shipping to New Jersey. Orders shipping to all other states will not be charged sales tax.

Discounts and Coupons TOP


I occasionally run special offers that may be advertised in magazines, my blog, Facebook, Twitter, or other media as well as my newsletter.

Please understand that specific vendor contracts prohibit me from discounting certain carriers. If the coupon states that it may not be applied towards certain products, or if there is a statement on the item that certain coupons may not be applied, please respect that, as using coupons inappropriately will delay your order until full payment is received.

Free shipping coupons can only be used for orders within the United States. However, international orders of $50 and over are  always eligible to receive a $5 shipping rebate.

Coupon codes that no longer work when you enter them into the shopping cart have expired and are no longer valid. Coupons cannot be combined. Coupons may not be applied towards purchases of items from the outlet section. Orders that have had discount coupons applied may be sent via parcel post, or without the carrier's box, to save on shipping costs.

Defects TOP

Please inspect your baby carrier upon receipt and contact me immediately in the unlikely event that your carrier has a manufacturing defect to arrange for a refund or an exchange. Depending upon the issue, you may be referred to the manufacturer for a repair or a replacement.
